Busy week for ADSO

Thanks to those who attended the Diploma learner day on Tuesday in Birmingham. I hope you found it helpful. I have mentioned previously that we are shortly about to embark on a review of the Diploma (as we have recently done for the Certificate) and I am very confident that we will have an even better qualification that we can all be proud of. More information on this in due course.

I attended the INLOGOV/CfPS/ADSO seminar on ‘Scrutiny in Challenging Times’ yesterday and it was good to see ADSO members present. There were a good mix of members and officers and we intend to continue our joint working with those organisations in the future.

We also finalised our submission to the DCLG Select Committee enquiry into the effectiveness of Scrutiny. My thanks to those who contributed and to the Vie Chair, Dave for pulling it together. You can read the full submission here.

Finally, some of you will know that Sue Keogh is leaving South East Employers at the end of March. SEE has been a great supporter of ADSO over the years and were very instrumental in getting us off the ground in the first place. My thanks to them for all their help and the very best wishes to Sue for the future. ADSO will no doubt keep her very busy so she won’t have too much spare time on her hands.
