Weekly message from John Lynch, Director of Finance

I hope you all survived super Thursday and managed to get some slight rest after your counts. Now onto inductions and Annual Council.  You will have seen our statement on the judgement re public attendance at meetings but just in case you missed it with everything else going on, here it is:  https://www.adso.co.uk/member-update-virtual-meeting-judgement-following-post-script/

We realise that this places additional pressure on local authorities in their arrangements for meetings moving forward. We would urge all local authorities and indeed individuals to now turn their attention to the Local Authority Remote Meetings: Call for Evidence and respond to the government by 17th June 2021.

  • Masks or no masks?
  • Councillor term end date
  • Support for new Councillors and for change of Political Leadership from the LGA

Best of luck to you all for another busy and challenging week ahead.
