We’re delighted to announce that ADSO have appointed Charlotte Eisenhart as our first ever Chief Executive Officer.
Charlotte brings a wealth of experience from her work in the local government sector, most recently as Head of Member Services at the National Association of Local Councils. She has a real passion for strengthening local democracy and for developing membership organisations.
Her previous experience also includes leading on national programmes for the Local Government Association (including the Be a Councillor campaign) and leading the RSA’s work to support social change projects as their Head of Fellowship Engagement.
John Austin, ADSO Chair, commented:
“Charlotte joins us at a pivotal time for the Association of Democratic Services Officers. Recruiting our first Chief Executive Officer is a key step towards delivering on our ambitious plans for ADSO’s future. This exciting appointment means that we will be able to do even more to support our ADSO members, and to develop our organisation in a way that works for them.
“We look forward to Charlotte guiding and supporting the ADSO Board. She will also be working closely with our membership and stakeholders as we continue our progress and development.”
Charlotte impressed us throughout a competitive and robust recruitment process. From being a well-respected part of leadership teams in the democracy sector, it is a natural next step for Charlotte to now become a Chief Executive. It’s also a first for the ADSO Directors, who will be working with a Chief Executive Officer for the first time.
ADSO are thrilled to have found the person who will go on this exciting journey with us, as we look to the future.
Charlotte Eisenhart says of her new role:
“I am delighted to be joining the Association of Democratic Services Officers as their first Chief Executive Officer. ADSO has huge potential, and I’m excited to be working with the Board and our members as we grow the organisation together.
“I’m unapologetically passionate about local democracy and the power of individuals to make a difference. I’ve dedicated my career and my time outside of work to supporting people and organisations who wish to make a difference. So I am excited to have the opportunity to bring this passion, knowledge and experience to the ADSO community.
“I’m looking forward to representing, promoting and developing excellent democratic services, for the benefit of all those working within the sector and those we support. I really look forward to meeting ADSO’s members when I take up my new role.”
Charlotte will begin her role with ADSO on Monday 25 November, at the ADSO Conference 2024.
