About the event
This year’s conference includes a full programme of events offering opportunities for personal development, knowledge sharing and networking.
You can take part in facilitated discussions, workshops and plenary sessions, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet your ADSO area representative. Our very popular Q&A panel returns again this year giving you the opportunity to listen and contribute to a panel discussion, with experts giving their opinions on topics chosen by you.
Our sponsors will also be exhibiting over the two days of the conference, giving you an opportunity to talk directly to them about the services they offer. We also have an evening drinks reception followed by our Awards evening, with a three course dinner and disco.

About the Awards
The ADSO Awards 2024 are an opportunity for us all to get together and celebrate the great work that people in our Democracy teams are doing. Is there someone who you’d like to see recognised at this year’s ADSO Conference? Or would you like to celebrate the contribution that your team are making to local democracy? We’re looking for great examples of Learners, Rookies and Teams, along with nominations for our special John Lynch Distinguished Service award. Nominations are open now.

About our venue
The Slate is a modern, purpose built conference centre based at the 700 acre University of Warwick campus. The venue has a lakeside view, BREEAM Architecture and is adorned with a glass façade – one of only 10 of its type in the UK. There are lounge and bar areas in the Ratcliffe and Scarman accommodation areas and quiet rooms offering opportunities for prayer, meditation, or reflection.
When visiting Warwick Conferences, there are plenty of things to do to make the most of your stay, including a sculpture park and the Warwick Arts Centre. There are also some on-site fitness facilities, including walking and running routes and complimentary access to the gym and swimming pool (for overnight guests) at the world-class Sports and Wellness Hub.
