Democratic Services Officer, Law and Governance
£26,109.50 – £30,413.50 per annum
37 hours per week, permanent
This role offers an interesting opportunity to work in a high-profile area supporting the Council’s decision-making and governance arrangements, working closely with senior officers and councillors
You will work as part of a team at the heart of the democratic process, assisting in the provision of an effective and efficient committee administration service and scrutiny function. You will be required to give advice on matters relating to Local Government legislation and the Council’s Constitution.
Ideally you will have experience in Local Government committee administration; the ability to write clear and concise minutes to a good standard of English; a keen eye for detail and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will also have excellent IT skills and preferably have had experience with the Civica committee software.
We are looking for a confident person able to balance many priorities. You will need to be flexible and prepared to help cover other meetings if required.
The work involves attendance at evening meetings for which an allowance is paid.
