This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly created Democratic Services Team at Melton Borough Council.
If you want to play a key role in supporting the decision making processes of the council, work closely with Elected Members and senior officers, provide professional advice on democratic, governance and constitutional issues and ensure that the democratic function complies with the law and internal procedures then this is the role for you!
The successful applicant will need to be organised and politically astute and should have experience of working in a committee administration role in a local authority or similar organisation with good knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework of local authority decision making. You will need to be able to evidence experience of working within pressurised, highly confidential and/or politically sensitive circumstances and be able to demonstrate an ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities.
