Salary: Grade 9 (£36,379 – £41,025)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop in a management role and progress a career in local government. Democratic Services supports many of the Council’s activities and we are committed to ensuring an efficient, highly effective service with a strong customer focus.
The Team Manager will be innovative and help to drive improvement. They will provide professional advice on the decision-making process to members and officers and be responsible for ensuring high standards of corporate governance. They will lead the Democratic Services team which is responsible for administrative support to decision making, regulatory committees, overview and scrutiny committees and school appeals. The Team Manager will also have budget responsibilities and manage activities related to elected members, including member development.
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of how local government works and will have worked in democratic services or a similar corporate governance role. They will need to demonstrate sound judgement and integrity and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
