Secretariat Manager, Greater London Authority

Website Greater London Authority

£57,471 per annum
Ref: GLA3965

The GLA is looking to recruit a Secretariat Manager to its Committee Services Team to manage the provision of secretariat and clerking support to the Member-level meetings of Transport for London (TfL) and the two Mayoral Development Corporations, the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC).

You would be joining a high-performing team at City Hall, with an excellent reputation, which also provides secretariat and clerking support to the London Assembly, a range of mayoral boards and the London Economic Action Partnership.

It’s a dynamic environment and one where you can often read about work you’ve lead on in the media on the way home from work. You will need to be able to work quickly across a range of issues and enjoy a challenge.

You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have substantial experience of successful provision of secretariat and Board/Member support services and of providing advice on governance matters at a senior level in a large, complex and high-profile organisation. We are looking for someone who both ‘gets’ the big picture and spots the small but important details at the same time.

You must have the ability to both lead and provide direction to staff – and have experience of managing staff in a similar environment – whilst also directly delivering work yourself.

You will also have excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage the interface with senior politicians and senior staff across the GLA Group with tact and diplomacy. In return, you get to work in a great team, in a high-profile environment and in a unit that offers good development opportunities.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan, childcare voucher scheme and a career average pension scheme.

To apply, please click on the apply button to visit our website.

Application closing date: Sunday 17 February 2019 at 23:59 GMT.
Interviews will take place at: City Hall on Friday 1 March 2019.

London’s diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London’s diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.
