Salary: £35,745 – £38,223
Contract type: Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Adviser to join Blackpool’s Democratic Governance team. The team sits within the Governance and Partnerships Directorate at the heart of the Council and is responsible for managing the Council’s democratic processes and supporting both the Executive and Overview and Scrutiny functions in addition to the Council’s wholly owned companies. We are looking for a confident and proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a keen analytical mind to provide governance support to a wide range of bodies notably including Scrutiny Committees and the Council’s wholly owned companies.
As a Senior Adviser you will be innovative and help to drive improvement. You will be expected to have good knowledge of local government decision making processes in order to provide professional advice to members and officers and will be responsible for ensuring high standards of corporate governance. You will need to have a sound level of experience of working with elected members and supporting Council Committees and be able to establish good working relationships with senior leaders and partners. You will also need to be highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
