The School Admissions (England) (Coronavirus) (Appeals Arrangements) (Amendment) Regulations 2020 were published today and will remain in place until 31st January 2021.
The regulations apply to appeals that have not yet been determined and any between now and 21 January 2021. The main approach of the regulations is to remove (or disapply) the need for appeals to be heard in person and allows for them to be conducted by telephone, video conference or a paper-based appeal where all parties can make representations in writing.
The regulations also give flexibility with regards to the number of Panels members, allowing appeals to be considered by 2 Panel Members instead of 3
