We are following up the successful network meeting in Stockport for ADSO members in the north west in September with a similar half-day event in Carlisle for those members in the north of the region. Thanks to Carlisle for hosting.

We have the Leader and Leader of the Opposition at Carlisle City Council, who will tell us about their work, to help Democratic Services staff to appreciate the work Councillors get involved in outside formal meetings.
Tricks of the Trade/Sharing Good Practice
A round-table discussion on issues relevant to Democratic Services, sharing good practice with others in the sector. Suggested topics will include:-
• How to get officers to meet deadlines
• Filming and using social media at meetings
• Minute taking – consistency in teams
• Archiving documents
