Video highlights ADSO 2017

The general view was that the venue was excellent and the programme more than delivered what people wanted. As expected, there were some strong views with regard to the panel discussion and this is something we will review for 2018. The dinner, awards and disco were very well received so we will have those again too. Thank you to all who ran workshops/facilitated discussions and to those who returned the evaluations.

Thanks again to our sponsors particularly Modern.Gov for sponsoring the drinks reception and Public i for the excellent disco after dinner. A great night was had by all – even if the dancing left something to be desired – mine mainly!

A particular highlight of the evening was celebrating the success of our learners and presenting those in attendance with their certificates. Congratulations to our ‘Learner of the Year’ Matt Kane and a special mention to Emma Clarke who received a commendation. Commiserations to Pippa Turvey and Jason Habbershon who were the other nominees. The standard was very high and both received excellent feedback from their advisers.

Our guest of honour at the dinner was the Lord Mayor of Nottingham and we were delighted to raise £632 for his charity through the combination of a raffle and a donation from ADSO.

It was also great to present the very first Special ADSO Award to the Kirklees Democracy Commission for their outstanding work in promoting local democracy.

Finally a big thank you to all who attended conference and contributed so much, you can have a look at some of the pictures from the event on our facebook page
