Democratic Services is part of Democracy and Governance within the Council.
This part time role covering maternity leave offers an interesting opportunity to work in a high profile area supporting the Council’s decision making and governance arrangements, working closely with Members and a Directly Elected Mayor.
You will work as part of a team at the heart of the democratic process assisting in the provision of an effective and efficient committee administration service and the delivery of the Council’s scrutiny function including carrying out high quality reviews and investigations. You will also be required to give advice on matters relating to Local Government legislation and the Council’s Constitution. Please note that the Job Description for this role will be reviewed in 2019.
What we are looking for:-
An enthusiastic individual covering maternity leave until December 2019. Working 18.5 hours per week, (Monday and Tuesday full days and Wednesday morning), you will have relevant experience in Local Government committee administration. With excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience in carrying out research, analysing and presenting information, you will be able to work to tight and sometimes conflicting deadlines. You will also have excellent IT skills
The role involves attendance at evening meetings for which an allowance is paid.

£27,358-£30,756 plus local weighting pro rata (band 6)
