The government has issued its response to the Levelling Up Select Committee’s inquiry into council tax collection. Some interesting material here for all councils. DSOs may want to put this before their members. Details can be found here:

The Levelling Up Committee has published its report on financial distress in local authorities. The report presents evidence collected from across local government about the current financial problems being experienced. The government’s response is expected by 1st April 2024. The Think Tank Localis has recently published a report entitled: Mapping a route to local clean growth: Clearing the path to net zero. Scrutiny committees, portfolio holders and other committees working on net-zero will be interested in the findings. The report can be found here:
