Weekly message from Wayne Chandai, Director of Communications

So with election week i know most of us will be involved in various duties ensuring that the vote is a smooth one (the process at least). I have been heavily involved in my day job with election prep and have learnt much about delivering an election during the winter period, i do love the excitement and fast pace of delivering a snap election but clearly comes with some headaches that Electoral Services teams need to address, and are best placed to fix. Sometimes these teams can be overlooked by the wider organisation but thank you for all you do, democracy also thanks you!

The Board meeting was last Friday, unfortunately i could not attend but was pleased that the following was discussed.

The Board agreed that SW Councils would continue to run the ADSO Qualification’s until 2023. SW Councils do a fabulous job for us and we are extremely pleased to have this commitment in place which helps us to deliver one of our goals in developing, training and supporting our members.

It was also agreed that we will be going out to tender soon for the management/delivery of the training workshops which was previously done by a local authority. This is a good opportunity for those looking to generate some income, so look out for details shortly. The Board also considered a report on the conference, The conference was well attended and once again thank you to all those that attended and for all the positive feedback received.  Next week’s is John Austin’s turn for the newsletter so am sure he will share more about the meeting.

Notwestminster is back  and being held on 14th and 15th February, we are pleased to be one of the sponsors of the event again. For more details and to book your tickets click here
