Many congratulations to Fiona Hubbard from Wellingborough Council for completing her ADSO certificate. Well done Fiona and I hope you can get to conference in November to receive your award in person.
A couple of authorities have contacted me recently asking whether ADSO could be involved in the apprenticeship scheme and levy, particularly through our qualifications and training. We discussed this at the recent Board meeting and it is certainly something that we fully support. However, the apprenticeship scheme does not really lend itself to a professional body taking the lead and there are issues around the way our qualifications are now structured.
Even if neither of these were issues, I don’t think ADSO has the resources to undertake such a leading role. That said, we are keen to explore options and will share with you our position in more detail in the next few days.
