ADSO is currently looking for a number of additional Assessors to carry out assessments for new learners on the updated ADSO Certificate. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with ADSO and develop your skills. Assessors need to have a good knowledge of the Democratic Services sector and associated legislation and procedures, ADSO will provide all the information, guidance and materials needed to carry out the role effectively.
This paid role and assessors will be able to claim up to £500 per completed learner, You will provide expert advice and guidance to ADSO learners who are studying for the two courses we run, a Level 4 Certificate in Democratic Services Practice and a Level 6 Diploma in Local Democracy.
The Certificate has now been reviewed and will be run as a pilot starting in March 2017. The Diploma will be reviewed once the pilot cohort is up and running. The Certificate review has enabled us to update its structure, content and currency to make it more relevant and more sustainable in the future. We also hope that it will:
improve completion rates
attempt to address the issue of shortage of advisors to support learners,
improve access to learning materials – e learning for example
rationalise administration and related processes
